“STAR” Achiever Program
Success, Teamwork, Attitude, Respect”
Henry Davison Youth Center

The STAR Achiever Program exposes high school students to educational opportunities that are available in high school through  Kirkwood Community College.

Wade Pucket is a registered member of the Henry Davison Youth Center and a member of the STAR Program.  Next year, as a  Junior at Washington High School, Wade will be attending Kirkwood’s “Advanced Manufacturing and Welding” class at the Kirkwood Regional Center. Upon completion of this class, he will receive a machining and welding certificate that will offer  him immediate employment opportunities.

The STAR Program arranged for Wade to visit Master Tool & Mfg. in Hiawatha to expose him to the environment he will be entering upon receipt of his certification.  He received a very comprehensive tour of the machining and fabrication facility. A special thanks to Master Tool and Mfg. Co-Owner Clint Bitterman along with Rob Davis and Keith Musser for encouraging Wade and supporting his continued education at Kirkwood.
